Game Republic Inc. was an independent developer based in Tokyo, Japan and founded on July 1, 2003 by Yoshiki Okamoto after he departed from Capcom. The company employed just under 300 individuals and during its early years enjoyed a close relationship with Sony who funded and with whom they produced in conjunction with many of their early titles.

In June 2011 Game Republic shut down its website and vacated its offices. The studio is now defunct.
